Keng Soon (heng) 888 chicken rice, Section 19

we found this chicken rice shop early this January when i was about to go collect my engagement cupcakes from Sidney and Sunny. it is situated in Seksyen 19 PJ, opposite Kanna curry house, same row with Nan King restaurant and Ulu yam Loh Mee shop. its quite hidden, will be a bit hard to find. didnt get their address though, will update it later.

Max as usual ordered Steamed chicken, Niel ordered roasted chicken. the chicken rice came in sets, together with a bowl of fishball soup and vege of the day. normally we had beansprouts but today, they gave us curry vegetables which was so good i dug into Max’s portion LOL. the tauke was playing dota and we were quite sorry to disturb his game. he gave us chicken thighs without extra charging us. what a deal!

unknown mamak, beside UNITAR kelana jaya

Max sent me to school the other day and we decided to drop by this mamak just beside Unitar to have our tea. it was raining and i felt like eating mee rojak since its the “new item” of the mamak. and it was… really really bad! worst mee rojak i ever had. instead of making the gravy savoury, it was so sweet till i could not even finish one third of the portion.

rmee

they replaced the cucur udang with kuih cekodok, made by bananas. the whole thing tasted so sweet. 1 word -  BAD! too bad for a RM4.00.

canai

Max ordered roti kosong, RM0.90. not too bad.

i wont order their new items anymore =.=

tamago by Niel

craving for tamago again. *piff*

recipe:

4 large eggs

1 tablespoon of sugar

3ml kikkoman’s soy sauce

add everything into the egg and beat till fluffy. oil pan, fry da egg! this is not the authentic tamago though, search in youtube for tamagoyaki, and they’ll show you how to make the authentic ones with bonito broth and mirin.

tamago1

not fresh liao my eggs. better finish them up fast. but then why expire date still 1month ahead geh?

tamago2

kikkoman’s soysauce. best for sushi and sashimi. misused it wakakkaka…

tamago3

oh my eggs my tamago! tasted good though hehe.

Dae Jang Gum, section 14 PJ revisited

We went to Dae Jang Dum again, and again. i wonder why i’m obsessed with this place, and their food. This time, they gave us freebies again wakakkakaa…

 DCJ1

the side dishes… owh they gave us tamago LOL. Niel’s favourite. she finished the potato salad, the tamago, lotus roots, and the marinated fishcake by herself. pity Max. [ eh he was eating quietly over there and he ate more than i did! ]

DCJ2

Freebie no 1. lettuce with hot sauce + sprinkled sesame? Niel didnt like that.

DCJ3

Max’s pork slices cookin~ Niel didnt like him ordering this plate as the texture was too hard. Max’s favourite, unmarinated meat.

DCJ4

Freebie no 2. steamed egg as usual, but with lots of spring onions on top this time. better than the 1st time we went there, the egg was burnt.

DCJ5

Max’s porky tofu soup. i told him its hot, and he said its clear soup. there was no pork inside, probably they just used the soup. lots of tofu chunks, and 1 soft boiled egg. i think its poached egg.

DCJ6

argh! i totally love this dish. lets call it kanikamacorn! pan fried sweet corn on hot plate with mayo-like sauce, sausage slices, green and red capcicum. nicey nicey! oh ya, and it comes together with the BBQ meat thingy i think.

DCJ7

Niel’s marinated pork ribs in sweet sauce. best korean BBQ porky ever!

DCJ8

i googled this desert thingy. i think its called Oksusu cha aka Oksoosoo cha. barley drink with ginger, garnished with 2 small slices of red dates. our favourite dish of all. thought of making this our wedding’s desert. ok folks?

DCJ9

complimentary watermelon. sweet, usual.

DCJ10

the total damage : RM86.25

Max’s tofu soup costs RM17! he footed the bill LOL. before we leave, we have some messages for….
